Dear BASI® Students!

We are delighted that you wish to enhance your experience and learning process as part of your training, and we extend a warm welcome to our studio.

Here you will find some information that will be helpful for your planning.

Please always notify us of your studio visits, online course participation, or observation sessions in advance via email at info@basipilatescologne.com.
Please specify the area you wish to be active in, along with the date, time, and duration of your presence. We will respond to your email promptly so you can plan effectively.

Practice Hours

1. Participation in group classes is possible with registration via Eversports; please briefly inform the instructor about your training status before the class. As a student, you receive a 10% discount on all group 10-class passes. (Please remember that a 10-class pass is valid for 4 months.)

2. For your personal practice of the repertoire learned in the training modules, you can come to the studio alone or with one of your fellow students. Based on experience, a duration of 2 hours is recommended here!
Please ensure that you
● have the necessary working materials with you;
● review exercises in BASI® Interactive beforehand, if necessary, before practicing them yourself.
● One way to refine your technique is to record yourself. Please make sure that you do not disrupt the studio flow and exclude any participants present from your photos/videos.

● After completing your practice, return the used equipment to its original state, settings, and cleanliness.

Observation Hours

Observing classes and trainers in private or group sessions provides a wealth of information and sharpens your eye. Choose a suitable spot in the studio for your observation so that you have a good view of the instructor and their client without infringing on privacy.
● Note down the exercises chosen for each block and their setups.
● If the instructor asks for your assistance in group classes, be prepared and act quietly and mindfully.
● Please help the instructor by taking over equipment cleaning.

Teaching

Part of your work is, of course, also instructing exercises and teaching. For this, you can bring your own clients or arrange to meet with other students.
● Please teach exclusively BASI® Repertoire
– according to the block system
– corresponding to the exercises learned at your training level
– be mindful of ‘studio life’, and consider that instructors/trainers and their clients have priority when choosing your equipment. If necessary, change your plan and use freely available equipment.

Note down all questions that arise during your work and try to answer them using your training materials and/or internet research. If you cannot clarify something, the next module is the most suitable place to discuss these questions with other participants – this way, everyone learns together and benefits.

We wish you a successful time in our studio!!!
If you have further questions, we are happy to assist you – in person at the studio, by phone, or by email.

Warm regards,

the Basi Pilates Cologne team
